Lazy Weekend

What do you do on the weekend after the most stressful week you’ve had in a long time?

Things that make you happy.

I went to the gym (body pump, body sculpt, and step- not all on the same day). Side note- I’m realizing that YMCA classes are way less intense than other gyms. Maybe it’s just the ones I’ve joined but they definitely cater to an older demographic so it’s not as high impact as I’m used to.

I enjoyed some baked ziti from my favorite pasta takeout place Friday night.

I watched the bachelor for the first time. And Biggest Loser. Don’t see the appeal to either, but it was mind numbing which is just what I needed.

I ate coldstone to help me stay up until midnight. My friend wasn’t hungry so she watched me eat all of the deliciousness. I don’t know how you can watch someone else eat birthday cake remix and not want your own…

I went to the Brooks Transcend midnight launch party at my running store Friday night and got to see Lauren celebrating the new shoe. Except I didn’t realize that the “launch party” was literally just a race in the new shoes and I wasn’t dressed in running gear… so I left approximately 3.5 minutes after I got there. It was awkward. I literally look like a fan girl at my job. I’m only moderately embarrassed.

I ran. Twice. Yes. This really happened. It felt great and the weather was the icing on the cake. More to come.

I went to three different grocery stores Saturday… and walked to all of them. I love spring-like weather. Too bad it isn’t going to last. Trader Joe’s on the Saturday before the superbowl=bad idea but I did get to see someone from the running store who works there so that was a plus.

I had some quality girl talk with a few friends.

I didn’t make a single meal. Aka I went out for all of them. Burgers, baked ziti, ice cream, all delicious, and they taste even better when you don’t have to prepare it yourself.

I got ahead on work so this week will hopefully be calmer than last. I actually wanted to do my work. Maybe because reading about nutrition is interesting and I’m in the zone for thermo. Let’s keep this lack of procrastination going.

I talked to a friend I haven’t seen in a really long time and it made me even more ready for this semester to fly by so that we can be in the same place at the same time for the first time in years. New England, I’m beyond ready for you.

No cooking? Fine. No laundry? Fine. No exciting plans? Fine. No Super Bowl parties? Perfect. It was marvelous and just what I needed. Now if only we had school today so I could get back into a routine…

This weekend felt long. Almost too long. I blame that on not having any plans. But at the same time, I slept in late (8:45, woah!), and I really just recharged my batteries which was beyond necessary. I’m ready for some more exciting weekends (like NEXT WEEKEND kajdfkajsdf!).

Did this weekend feel long to anyone else?

How do you recharge after a stressful week?
